I really like the HQ Barefoot shoes from Amazon and liked them from the first time I wore them. The biggest surprise with these shoes is the look, I get compliments almost every time I wear them. And most of the compliments are from friends with regular width feet. They do not look high-end, but the faux suede adds texture and style. I was concerned these shoes were going to look too large and boxy, but I like the look and style. They are a bit wide looking, but I find myself wearing these more often than I expected.
For the price, these shoes are a great choice. The have a breathable upper and come in mostly neutral colors with a few pops of color. These shoes are not fancy, but they are a fun addition to my rotation.
In addition to the look, these shoes are comfortable, lightweight, stylish and have a grippy rubber sole. They’re only available in wide and have a wide toe box, so they let my toes spread naturally. Finally, a shoe that’s only for those of us with wide feet and bunions!!
When buying these shoes, size up a half size. I normally wear a 7.5 wide and buy these in 8 wide, like I do with most tennis shoes. These shoes are zero drop or barefoot shoes because they are flat and made to have a natural fit and barefoot feel to strengthen your foot muscles. The shoes have a flat insole with minimal support and cushioning so they may not be a fit for those with flat feet. The heel and forefoot of most barefoot shoes, including the HQ Barefoot shoes from Amazon, are at the same level and flat on the floor to help with posture and balance. When trying barefoot shoes or zero drop shoes, it’s best to gradually transition from your supportive shoes.
I love the look and feel of these shoes, but they don’t have a lot of support. I normally wear them with my custom orthotics because my feet naturally roll inward as they move (overpronate). If you’re interested in zero drop or barefoot shoes, I recommend this brand and style. They are inexpensive (under $35) with removable insoles. The HQ Barefoot shoes from Amazon have so many positive qualities and I highly recommend them for those of us with wide feet or bunions, especially for the price.
