I’ve tested a lot of ballet flats, and the Naturalizer Soul Idea Flats are one of the few that actually feel like sneakers when I wear them, in a good way. These are soft, flexible, and surprisingly comfortable, especially if you don’t need a ton of support.
Right out of the box, I noticed how lightweight and cushiony they felt. These are true slip-on flats with a rubber sole, and they’re lined with breathable, antimicrobial fabric and they’re easy to wear all day.
That said, these are best for women who need light arch and heel support. If you rely on custom orthotics or high-support insoles, these might not be the right pick because the insoles of these shoes are not removable.
These flats run about a half-size large, the 7 wide fits me the best but I usually wear 7.5 wide. They’re roomy across the toe box and didn’t irritate my bunions at all. However, these shoes are known for inconsistent sizing, so I recommend trying two sizes if you’re unsure.
These shoes are made from fabric and manmade materials. At full price, I expected a bit more, maybe a leather upper or at least some premium touches. So I’d suggest watching for a sale before you grab them.
Where these flats really shine is versatility: I’ve worn them with jeans, leggings, and even dresses. The slight 1" heel gives them just enough lift to feel polished, but they still feel as easy as tennis shoes. I love that I can dress them up or down and they’re wide-foot and bunion-friendly without looking orthopedic.
If you’re looking for a flat that’s comfy, easy, and cute, and you don’t need major arch support, these are a great choice. I’ll keep them in my rotation for casual days, especially when I want tennis shoe comfort with a more polished look.

Yes, we have tried these shoes on and tested the comfort and fit. We recommend the Naturalizer Soul Idea Ballet Flat for wide feet and bunions. These shoes have a wide toe box and come in wide sizes, allowing plenty of room for your feet to spread out.
Do you recommend the Naturalizer Soul Idea Ballet Flat for flat feet?
No, we’ve evaluated these shoes for comfort and fit, and we do not recommend the Naturalizer Soul Idea Ballet Flat for flat feet due to the medium arch support. For flat feet, the American Podiatric Medical Association recommends supportive shoes that stabilize the foot preventing the foot rolling in (overpronation). The insoles of these shoes are not removable so using custom insoles to add additional arch support is not an option.
