These sneakers are really cute, but unfortunately, they were a no for my wide feet and bunions.

The Sperry Crest Vibe Core Sneakers are lightweight, affordable, and have that classic preppy vibe I usually love.

These are adorable sneakers, but if you have wide feet or bunions, I don’t recommend them, even in wide. They’re a much better option for narrow feet.

The lightweight barefoot shoes are zero drop, breathable, and come with removable insoles so you can wear them with your custom orthotics if needed.

Naturalizer Soul Idea Ballet Flat

These flats feel like sneakers.

I’ve tested a lot of ballet flats, and the Naturalizer Soul Idea Flat is one of the few that actually feels good on my feet and looks polished enough to dress up or down.

They’re lightweight, soft, and comfy right out of the box. The wide width fit my bunions comfortably and the 1" heel gives just enough lift. I sized down to a 7 wide (I usually wear 7.5 wide), and they fit perfectly.

These flats come in tons of colors, but heads-up:
— The support is light (not ideal for flat feet)
— The insole isn’t removable
— They run about a half-size big

At full price, I expected more from the materials but they often go on sale for $80, which feels much more reasonable. If you’re looking for a casual flat that feels like a tennis shoe but looks more polished, this one’s worth trying.

I’ll keep these in my rotation for everyday wear when I want a little style with all-day comfort.

The Anne Klein Ultimate Flat is nothing flashy, but it is everything I need when I just want a simple, comfortable, slip-on flat that won’t irritate my bunion. It’s available in wide, has a slight 0.75" wedge heel, and it feels good all day, even when I’ve been in heels too long and need a break shoe in my bag.

I was skeptical at first…the faux leather, the chunky laces…but once I tried them on, I got it. They’re way cuter in person and actually super roomy in the toe box.

If you have wide feet or bunions, this sneaker gives you space above the toes too (rare!).

✔️ Removable insoles (I swap in my orthotics)
✔️ Budget-friendly

I will say they’re only moderately supportive. I wouldn’t wear these on a long day out, but they’re great for errands, casual outfits, and adding a little sporty edge.

The Olukai Huia are another cute pair of Olukai shoes with lots of great color options. These shoes are slip on with no-tie laces and can be converted to a mule design when you fold down the back heel (they call it a drop-in heel). The shoes are lightweight with a breathable mesh upper and have a grippy sole. The insoles of the Olukai Huia shoe are removable (and washable) and provide cushioned arch support. These shoes are not washable, but you can scrub them with water and scrub brush to clean.

The Olukai Huia do not work for my wide feet or bunions because they run narrow and were tight on the top of my foot. I size up my tennis shoes a half-size and did the same for the Olukai Huia to a size 8. The size 8 fits the length of my foot but were still too narrow. If you have narrow feet without bunions these shoes are cute and come in great colors but are a big no for wide feet or bunions.

The On Cloudrunner 2 Wide are lightweight, wide width running shoes with a foam insole, mild support and low to medium cushioning to absorb impact. Some may expect the On Cloudrunner 2 to have more cushion, but the medium amount in the shoe felt comfortable on my feet. These shoes mention an upgraded outsole (bottom of the shoe) that’s designed so rocks don’t get stuck in the bottom and the upper of the shoe is mesh. I love the wide width of these shoes. They are comfortable and roomy, perfect for my bunions. If you have wide feet and bunions I recommend these shoes.

These On Cloudrunner 2 wide shoes have standard laces, removable insoles and a 10mm heel to drop. The heel drop is the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot in these shoes. A 10mm heel drop is considered a high heel drop and it’s also considered the standard drop for running shoes. The stack height, the amount of materials between your feet and the ground, of this shoe is 29mm. This is a medium stack height that is the standard for most regular running shoes.

One big negative of this shoe for me is the minimal colors available in wide. The wide version only comes in two colors….both that are mostly black. The non-wide version of these shoes has a ton of great colors. Another negative is the high price tag.

Unlike other Olukai women’s shoe styles that do not work for wide feet or those of us with bunions, the Olukai Island Hopper athletic shoe runs wide with a wide foot bed, so it's comfortable for our wide feet and bunions. The shoe doesn’t come in wide sizes, but I size up half a size (to size 8) making the shoe roomy and comfortable, but not too big on my foot. The shoe has a breathable cotton upper, stretch ripstop fabric and cushioned arch support. I like this shoe, especially the look and fit of the Island Hopper more than I expected.

The Olukai Island Hopper shoe comes in a good selection of colors and has a regular tongue and laces (unlink other Olukai styles). I love the lilac/crushed grape color, it's so cute! You can fold down the heel of these shoes and wear them like a mule slip on (they call it a drop-in heel). It takes a few times folding down the heel for it to stay down. I was surprised how much I liked the look, feel and fit of this shoe and recommend it for wide feet and bunions.

Although the footbed of the shoe is narrow and you can see my bunions sticking out in the picture, they were comfortable on my bunions because the upper is made of a stretchy mesh material. Also, there are not seams in the bunion area.

If you try these shoes, I normally size up with my tennis shoes but these I wear true to size (size 7.5). The size 8 was too long for my feet but still ran narrow. The tongue of the shoe is not separate and is part of the shoe. The shoe’s mesh upper has a sock design so you don’t have to tie the shoe tight to keep your foot in place, this also makes it easier on the bunions.

The OluKai Wailuku have a cushioned, medium arch support. These shoes are lightweight, washable, and breathable and the mesh is quick drying with leather details.

Although these shoes don’t hurt my bunions, the narrow foot bed makes them uncomfortable for my feet, so I don’t recommend them for those of us with wide feet or bunions.

The Altria Women’s Experience Flow is a good-looking shoe that comes in a lot of great colors. The shoe is not available in wide but has a wide toe box. These shoes work for smaller bunions or less wide feet. If you have large bunions or very wide feet these shoes won’t be wide enough for you. I tried these shoes with the included insole and tried them with my custom orthotics, and they are slightly too narrow for me, only because of my bunions. Even though these shoes are too narrow for my feet, I was surprised how much I liked them.

The shoes have a low 4mm drop meaning that the difference in height between the heel and forefoot of the shoe is low at 4mm. The lower the drop the more you mimic walking barefoot (0 drop). These shoes also have low to mid cushioning and neutral support. Neutral support is normally for higher arches, but I found the support more comfortable and supportive than I expected. The Project Cloud Irita Lace-up sneakers from Amazon are a close dupe of high-end suede sneakers. These shoes are so cute! They come in nine colors for less than 1/4 of the cost of the cheapest high-end similar shoe (the Dolce Vita Notice sneaker). I was surprised at how comfortable these shoes are. They don’t come in wide but run wide, so they fit my bunions without any rubbing. I am wearing these more than expected because of the comfort and stylish look.

The Project Cloud Irita sneaker is made of vegan leather. This is a durable, water resistant, less expensive faux leather that mimics real suede. The shoe’s rubber soles are lightweight, anti-slip and extra flexible. They have a terry cloth lining to make them breathable with memory foam cushioning. I found the lining to provide light to medium support and comfort. I need extra support with my flat feet and bunions, so I prefer to wear these shoes with my custom orthotics. These shoes run true to size to a half size big. I purchased these in size 8. The width is perfect, but the length is a little long, but I still love them. For the price, look and fit I recommend giving these shoes a try.

They come in nine colors for less than 1/4 of the cost of the cheapest high-end similar shoe (the Dolce Vita Notice sneaker). I was surprised at how comfortable these shoes are. They don’t come in wide but run wide, so they fit my bunions without any rubbing. I am wearing these more than expected because of the comfort and stylish look.

The Project Cloud Irita sneaker is made of vegan leather. This is a durable, water resistant, less expensive faux leather that mimics real suede. The shoe’s rubber soles are lightweight, anti-slip and extra flexible. They have a terry cloth lining to make them breathable with memory foam cushioning. I found the lining to provide light to medium support and comfort. I need extra support with my flat feet and bunions, so I prefer to wear these shoes with my custom orthotics. These shoes run true to size to a half size big. I purchased these in size 8. The width is perfect, but the length is a little long, but I still love them. For the price, look and fit I recommend giving these shoes a try.

A friend of our site Katie recommended we try these shoes, and she was right! These shoes are so cute and inexpensive! The Amazon Essentials Loafer Flats come in wide and even though they are pointed, they have a wide toe box. The shoes are flat so there is no heel, and you can dress them up or down. They are lightweight and come in lots of great colors. One issue with the color is that the shoes you receive are not always the same as shown. For example, the Dark Turquoise in Amazon is actually a dark teal green but the navy blue was as pictured. The biggest issue with these shoes is minimal to no arch support but they have been comfortable to wear to work when I’m not walking a lot. The insoles of these shoes are not removable so there is no room for custom orthotic inserts but I have been wearing them with Flat Socks Link to Flat Socks for extra comfort.

The shoes arrive in a small Amazon pack wrapped in plastic (not a box) but the pairs I received were undamaged and didn’t get squashed.

These shoes run true to size to a half size big. I have these in 7 wide and 7.5 wide. The 7.5 wide is too roomy, but I wear them with my Flat Socks to make them more comfortable and a little smaller.

Another Clarks boot review. The Clarks Orinoco 2 Tall knee high boots are nice, sturdy, quality looking leather boots. They are surprisingly comfortable with a soft foot bed but not available in wide. Because these boots are not available in wide, my toes and bunions were cramped. But I was surprised how much I liked them if they fit my bunions. The calf shaft circumference (measurement around the fullest part of the boot shaft) runs narrow at 14.17 inches so they are great if you have thin calves but avoid these boots if your calves are larger.

The insoles of these boots come out if you prefer to wear with your own insole. The heel on this boot is small, a little over an inch, and the sole felt supportive and had traction. This boot has two buckles, one on the back of the boot and one on the top of the boot, both near the ankle. The buckles look nice and work, but neither tightens or loosens the boot much to make a difference with fit. I was surprised how much I liked this boot. I don’t recommend if you have bunions or wide feet but recommend if you have narrow feet and thin calves.

The Blunderstone Women’s Chelsea Boots are rugged, high-end boots that look great. This boot is exactly the style and look I wanted for a Chelsea boot, and they are made of premium water-resistant leather. The Blunderstone boots don’t have wide sizes, but they recommend you size up half size for wide feet. I tried the size 8.5 and it fit good but was slightly too narrow for my bunions. If you have small bunions these boots could work well for you.

The Blunderstone boots arch support is too minimal for my feet, so I removed the insole and added my custom orthotics. These boots came with two sets of removable insoles that are comfortable and with added shock absorption. I wanted to love these boots, and I do love the look and many things about them, but the width was not wide enough to fit my bunions.

These boots are what I was looking for in a Chelsea Boot. The best part of the Clarks Cologne Arlo 2 boot is the look. They can be worn dressed up or dressed down and I wear them with skirts, jeans, and leggings. They are wide width, bunion friendly and have removable insoles. The boots have a leather upper, rubber sole and leather-lined footbed with arch support. I find these boots to have medium arch support and wear my custom orthotics on days that I’m walking a lot for added arch support. The small ¾ inch heel is comfortable for my feet.

Clarks has stores in malls, but their wide-width shoe selection is limited so I usually try on a regular version of the shoe and then decide if I’m going to order the wide width size. I tried these boots on in size 8 M in the store and they were not wide enough for my bunions. I ordered and kept the 8 Wide because the width of the 7 ½ Wide was too narrow (but the 7 ½ Wide length was long enough for my feet). Even in the 8 Wide size you can see a slight outline of my bunion sticking out in the pictures but it’s minimal, and the boot does not irritate my bunions. So, size up a half-size in wide versions of these boots. If you have very wide feet, these boots may be too narrow for you, even in the wide version.

The Clark’s BZees Oasis Bootie is a wide width ankle boot that has a stretch upper fabric with a round toe. Even though the toe of this boot is rounded, the wide width worked for my bunions. The boots have an adjustable buckle that makes the fit comfortable for thin ankles and also fits larger ankles. These boots are machine washable and contain anti-microbial and odor control technology. Some negatives of these boots is that they have minimal arch support and a relatively tall 2 3/8 block heel. The look of this boot is outdated, and the heel looks plastic, you can get a more stylish and comfortable boot for your money.

The Kelly & Kate Sasha shoe is an adorable ballet flat with a modern toe. The toe looks rounded but is square enough to accommodate bunions and look feminine. The shoe is made of a mesh material, comes in a lot of great colors, and has a bow accent with metal ends. I loved this shoe immediately after trying it on.

The insole of this shoe is padded and not removable, but it is comfortable even without much arch support. These shoes, in the wide version, run big so size down a half size to a full size, I wear a size 7 wide in this shoe. I like these shoes and all the color options, so I tried on the regular width version and the 7.5 medium length fit my foot, but the width was not wide enough for my bunions. I highly recommend these shoes – they are cute, comfortable, affordable, and available in wide.

The Kelly & Kate Sasha shoe is an adorable ballet flat with a modern toe. The toe looks rounded but is square enough to accommodate bunions and look feminine. The shoe is made of a mesh material, comes in a lot of great colors, and has a bow accent with metal ends. I loved this shoe immediately after trying it on.

The insole of this shoe is padded and not removable, but it is comfortable even without much arch support. These shoes, in the wide version, run big so size down a half size to a full size, I wear a size 7 wide in this shoe. I like these shoes and all the color options, so I tried on the regular width version and the 7.5 medium length fit my foot, but the width was not wide enough for my bunions. I highly recommend these shoes – they are cute, comfortable, affordable, and available in wide.

The more I wear the Clarks Cologne Up Leather Boots the more I like them. These are knee-high leather boots with a leather lined footbed and grippy rubber outsoles. I didn’t love the feel of the boots when I tried them on in the store but ordered them online anyway because I liked the look (they didn’t have my wide width size in the store). When I tried them on in the store the insole felt stiff and not supportive. When I received the wide version of the boot, it was more comfortable, and the insole was supportive and not stiff. The insole is removable, so I have been testing them out wearing the boots with the Clark’s insole sometimes and my custom insole other times. I expected to wear these only with my custom insoles but have found these boots comfortable and supportive with either insole. These are adorable boots and I have been getting a lot of compliments when I wear them.
The width of the calf part of the boot is adjustable with gold buckles so it works for a wide range of calf sizes. These boots also fit my ankles nicely and were not too snug, some have issues with the boot ankle width being too narrow to zip the boot. Just like the fit, I like the look of this boot the more I wear them.
I purchased this boot in size 8 wide, half size up, because I will be wearing them occasionally with my custom orthotics. If not using custom orthotics these boots are true to size, and I would purchase a size 7.5 Wide.

I love the look and feel of these boots! They are a good option for winter when you want to be casual and comfortable but elevate your casual outfit. The Birkenstock Upsalla Shearling Boot is not my normal look, but after trying them on I was surprised how cute and comfortable they are and how much I like them! The mid-high boot has a deep heel cup for comfort and a contoured cork foot bed that provides arch support. The boots are comfortable with, and without, my orthotics and the width fits my feet that need wide shoes because of bunions. The boots are water resistant and lined with shearling, so they are extra cozy. They close with a buckle making the ankle size adjustable.

The Upsalla boots are not marked wide but they are made to be equivalent to a women’s wide width. Birkenstock shoes are made in European (EU) shoe sizes, so to find your size add 31 to your US Women’s shoe size. These boots do not come in half sizes so if you wear a half size, size down to the nearest full size. I normally wear 7.5W and the EU size 38 fits me.

The Dr. Scholl’s Time Off Platform Sneaker is another cute classic sneaker. The retro inspired sneaker has a toe cap, white sole and is available in wide. The shoe is comfortable for short use but doesn’t have a lot of arch support with the insole feeling thin and flimsy. The insole does come out of the shoe, so I would replace it with a custom or more supportive insole if regularly wearing this shoe. If you don’t need much arch support and use the insole, the insole is anti-microbial/anti-odor.

These shoes run true to size when wearing them with socks or orthotics, I wear my regular size 7.5 wide. Size down a half size if regularly wearing without socks. I like the look and width of this shoe, and the wide width version fits my bunions comfortably. The shoe is white but has area of off-white near the laces and around the ankle of the shoe. I think it looks good, but some may want an all-white shoe and not like the off white.

The Vionic Winny is a classic tennis shoe with leather upper, laces and a rubber sole. The shoe has a 1” heel height/0.75” platform heel. The Vionic Winny shoe is expensive, but it has good arch support, and a deep heel cup for stability and cushioning in the sole. The insole of this shoe is stiff, but Vionic recommends wearing this shoe for a short period of time for a week or two to break them in. I found the shoe more comfortable after the break in period. The wide version of this shoe may not be wide enough for some feet and I would’ve liked the shoe to be a little wider for my bunions. The insole comes out of this shoe and can be worn with orthotics but with the price, you can get a cheaper shoe and use your own custom orthotics. This shoe is true to size, and I wear a size 7.5 wide. If you regularly wear the Vionic Winny without socks, size down a half size.

These boots look great with many positives but have arch support issues. I liked so many things about these Chelsea boots, starting with the look. These are thick leather boots with a strong sole, but not too heavy. The color and leather is exactly what I was looking for in a boot. They are available in black and brown and very affordable when on sale. These boots come in wide, so the width fit my bunions comfortably and the heel is low (1.5”) with great traction.

Now to the issues, the insole of the boot is comfortable, but it has minimal arch support. The insole doesn’t come out of the boot so you can’t fix the arch support issue by using insoles or custom orthotics with these boots. Another issue I have with the brown boot is the elastic goring, this is the elastic fabric panel in the boot to provide stretch. The goring on the brown boot is a black fabric so it stands out. The goring on the black boot is black fabric so it blends better. I like these boots but don’t recommend the boots for those of us who need arch support.

I love these shoes and have from the first moment I put them on. The leather is so soft, and the shoes are comfortable especially considering the height. There was no break-in needed; after wearing them the first day, I bought two more colors! I love wearing these to work because they have a great look, style, and feel good on my feet.

These slingback sandals have a tall wedge heel, open toe, and adjustable Velcro strap in the back. They are available in wide and fit my bunions without any rubbing. The wedge heel is comfortable for my flat feet and supportive enough that they don't hurt my feet. The sole of the shoe is made of a material that is supportive and flexible.

I purchased these shoes in black, tan, and white. The white pair is not as comfortable and has stiffer leather compared to the other two colors.
I purchased these in 7.5 W but the 7W would also work, so these shoes are true to size.

These are the most comfortable shoes, they feel like slippers. The leather on these loafers is so soft (buttery soft), it’s not ridged at all, so there’s no need to break in. I love the look of these shoes, they can be dressed up or down and are great for work or can be worn casually. They come in lots of color options, many are neutral, but they also offer bright colors too. The gold shimmer leather is so cute!

These shoes run big, even with orthotics I needed to size down half size. I first tried the 8W but it was huge (even with flexible orthotics). I next went with 7.5W and had to size down one more time to a 7W. The wide size was perfect for my bunions.
